The WeBuyHouses Way…

Over the years people would drop by our Dallas office and ask us to show them how our business model worked and would comment “what a great process”, what if we could adapt it to the Australian way of life…

Although, people are people the world around and have similar wants and needs, taking a system created in the USA and adapting it to the Australian market was going to require starting from the ground up as Australia has a very different banking and legal system. Investigation showed us that the legal principals and systems we required were already in place except they were very rarely used in the residential market place and the legal profession had never used this system for property purchasing and selling.

Our goal was to be able to put families into the housing market as well as be able to take others out of the market using a newer fresher approach.

Fortunately, our previous experience helped us quickly establish good legal and banking relationships in Australia and we found the same market segments existed here as they did overseas, the everyday people, who for one reason or another, had been shut out of the housing market.

Another segment of the market where we became quite active, is the renovating investor. This market loved the fact that WeBuyHouses gets them into a property fast and with minimal paperwork and no lending fees. This enables renovators to renovate trade out of the property quickly and profitably. Buyers are encouraged to register online for notification by email of properties, as they become available. These notices provide all the information required and then it is a case of first in and taking action.

WeBuyHouses sees itself as providing a stepping stone for those who wish to enter or reenter the housing market. For many they may not have a ready deposit available or may have credit issues incurred through a divorce or medical circumstances beyond their control. The Row of Units…Lakewood

The things you do when you’re starting out. A gentleman from California asked if I could buy this whole building of units. I set about selling each one first with all the buyers paying me in the morning then with me settling with the seller in the afternoon. I wrote a creative newspaper ad and made a little wooden sign  which I moved from unit to unit as each one found a buyer.  Sold them all in three days but boy this one really cranked the adrenaline…


Nella Dan

Nella Dan was our first house in Australia. We knew our business model worked but we were also breaking new ground in Australia. We didn’t even have proper signs so we bought a piece of cardboard and drove some stakes into the front lawn.
